Ken Mwatha - Emergency Medicine Expert

Kenneth “Ken” Mwatha has dedicated his professional life to the fast-paced and demanding field of emergency medicine. Known for his clinical expertise and leadership, Ken Mwatha combines rigorous medical training with service, education, and continuous improvement in patient care.

Since 2013, Ken Mwatha has served as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, he manages a wide range of medical cases, from non-emergent conditions to life-threatening emergencies. His responsibilities include diagnosing complex conditions and stabilizing critically ill patients.

Dr. Mwatha has demonstrated leadership and community involvement throughout his career. He served as EMS director at Medstar Harbor Hospital and chaired the Community Outreach Sub-Section of the Emerging Physician Leadership Council. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he has remained active in mentorship, tutoring at-risk students, and supporting youth development initiatives.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mwatha leads a well-rounded and active life. He has a long-standing passion for sports, particularly rugby and soccer, having competed at a high level during his university years and beyond. He founded and captained a soccer team in local indoor leagues, demonstrating both leadership and teamwork.
